Little bit of backstory for what's been going on lately:
In Sept of 2014, I joined a local anime convention to help staff. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into but I knew that this might be a good fit for me. I was slightly hesitant because I didn't have much confidence in myself. Was this something I was ready to handle? Would I enjoy it? Would I hate going to cons after being involved with this?
After only 3 months of being in the convention under guest relations staff, I ended up receiving Head of Guest relations. I always enjoyed voice actors but never in my wildest dreams would I expect to be here where I am now. I still hold the title of head of guest relations but I also have con director to boot. I helped run the con last year by myself, not by my own choice but that's not for a story I could ever share, let alone here. I enjoyed the experience it gave me. I'm still running convention director this year as well as guest relations. I love both positions.
The best thing about our con this year for me was I was able to meet my favorite voice actor, Steve Blum. I know many of you have probably seen the artwork of Sailor spike. He not only remembered, but he remembered my letter that I wrote to him 5 years ago. He was the nicest person ever all weekend as were our other guests. We had an amazing lineup and I just would not have asked for the year to be any more perfect than it was this year.

Weee! Belt is done for the most part. Need to give it a little wear and tear, also need to add some of the symbols. I also bought the wig, should be getting it tomorrow. Sheath i made but may or may not be too small for the sword now. I had to go back and make a second sword since i was working with celluclay. I did the whole expanding foam thing, covered with masking tape, paper mached with paper squares, and then coat with a paper mache powder and wallpaper paste powder. Only problem is that i used Celluclay instead of just a regular paper mache powder and i didn't have the wallpaper paste powder, i had some form of wallpaper paste. It still worked sort of..It looked super bulky so i'm making another one using paper clay. It's a much lighter material and requires no mixing and probably alot less sanding. Pretty excited to use that and see how much lighter it might come out. I'll try both ways and see how i like them. Celluclay takes forever to dry and is extremely sloppy to mix/work with. I've used it before but i hadn't sanded afterwards. Dumb, i know. I figured i'd give it a shot on this sword but regretted it after i was done. Maybe it's because it looks huge right now because of how thick i layered it on. Might be different once i sand it down though, who knows. Weight also will play a factor into this. I need to be sure that the sword isn't too heavy. Don't wanna lug that around con either lol. I'll post some updated pics within the next week or so.

So far all i have left are as follows:
-belt
-sheath
-sword
-buying the wig

Not much! I'm glad i'm down to just those portions and nothing too extreme. My goal was to finish this costume before summer ended or at least have the basics done and i could go in and detail later. I thought the sword was going to be the hardest but these deer bones are proving hella interesting/difficult at the same time. I'm having fun with it, just wasn't entirely sure how to go about soaking these bones since i wanted them to keep their original color. They stunk to high heaven. I just didnt want the stink/bacteria following me around con. Nothx. I'll  pass. Glad we have a garage for our apt so i can just do the shit in there. Going to go check on them this morning to see how they're doing.
Ordered my leather for the belt/sheath(i hope i have enough ..i should..). That should be arriving today. After i get the belt/sheath done, my hardest task is next: Sword. Plans are to get it to light up. xD I'm going wayyy to far with this i think but it should be pretty damn awesome.

Thank you to everyone who voted or helped out with our picture! Friend and i won the contest and got a bunch of swag sent to us ;3 ! Love you guys !~
I started working my friend, Maria, her kid's dress. It's an avengers comic book pattern fabric we got at hancock and i'm turning into this adorable kid dress lol. It's super cute right now. Just waiting til i watch the kid again next week so she can try it on and make sure everything sits as it should. I just have the skirt section pinned to the bodice atm. So once i see her i'll make sure it's all ok to finish.
I also got wander's fabric all cut out as well. I did that probably a week+ ago and just havent really had the urge to sew it together. I do want to, it's just finding the time/energy after work during the week. I get fridays- sundays off through the summer so it'll be nice. That'll give me some extra time to get work done. Sorry for not updating a whole lot. :)
